Entries for the Scottish Schools Pentathlon and Relay Championships at Scotstoun on June 9 have been hit by the crowded athletics calendar. The Scottish Athletics Federation will hold its under-17 and under-20 championships at Grangemouth the day after the schools’ event.

“It’s asking to much for athletes to compete in both. It’s deprived us of a lot of our athletes,” said Scottish Schools’ Athletic Association secretary Linda Trotter.

The good news for the SSAA is that the annual track and field international will go ahead as planned in Dublin on July 21.
