Morag MacLarty of Perth High continues to outrun rivals and at the Reebok Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships in Nottingham was the only Scottish winner. She beat more-fancied English runners to win the under-17s race in 18 minutes 43 seconds.

The Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships, sponsored by Gordon Woodlands and staged at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall yesterday, drew entries from 677 pupils and 162 schools throughout Scotland.
