Teachers nominated pupils whose work revealed real enthusiasm and aptitude for maths. Photocopies of this work were submitted by the end of July. With the Citro n project, the student's measurements of cars' performance led him to research the theory of correlation and regression. Other entries ranged from maximising area, volume and algebraic sequences to extensive statistical analysis.
