Voting for the Scottish Education Awards has opened, with online nominations available for the first time.
The awards, sponsored by the Scottish Executive and The Daily Record, cover a range of categories, including the award for “teacher of the year”. The winner of that section goes forward to the UK Teaching Awards in October.
This year, an anti-sectarianism award is introduced to highlight the role schools can play in the executive’s action plan on tackling sectarianism, launched by the First Minister earlier this week (page 5).
Pupils, parents and staff can cast their vote for their favourite school or teacher at www.scottisheducationawards.org.uk.
Nominations for the awards will close on March 31.
