A fifth of the teachers said that at least 15 per cent of their teaching time was disrupted by discipline problems.
A survey of 750 teachers published this week by Teachers' TV found that more than 80 per cent blamed a lack of parental control for school behaviour problems. More than a third blamed weak or inconsistent discipline policies, and a quarter an unimaginative curriculum.
