The Scottish Badminton Union (SBU) is planning to introduce a Higher Still award. The first draft of the award is being prepared but it is proposed that it will be split into four modules: skills and technique; structure, strategy and technique; preparation of the body; and performance appreciaton.

“We have recognised that there is a need for this, with badminton being one of the most popular sports in schools,” says national coach Gillian Martin. “We are hopeful that we will get the award ready for the current academic year but there is still a lot of work to be done.”
