Former Scotland international Russell Hogg is Badminton Scotland’s new development manager. Hogg, who was capped 117 by his country between 1986 and 2003, took up the post at the start of this month. His role will include overseeing youth development, particularly encouraging the 8-15 age group.

“I am really excited by my new role. It’s going to be a big challenge,” he said. “I am particularly looking forward to continuing my work with young people.

“Having gained so much out of badminton from my playing days, this is a great chance for me to put something back into it in a big way and pass on that enjoyment.”
