Readings from Romeo and Juliet are among events being staged this summer at Stafford’s most famous building, the Ancient High House, to celebrate its 400th anniversary. Built from local oak, it is the largest timber-framed building in Britain and both Charles I and Prince Rupert slept in it. The readings will take place at the front where the balcony will provide an authentic backdrop. Tel: 0785 223181.
