Like Roz Symon’s little primary-school friends (English Extra, TES, March 3), my Year 9 pupils, too, understand “the concept of power relationships within society” and the concepts of “social and moral status”.

In fact, the only things about plays of William Shakespeare that they do not understand are the words.
