Baseline assessment banished;In brief

THE TERM baseline assessment has been dropped by the Scottish Office for pupils entering primary school. Staff will now be asked to keep a “transition record” as pupils move from pre-school into and through primary 1. The move follows sensitivity to charges of premature testing and labelling of very young children.
