BBC learning hit by cuts

BBC learning department staff, who develop education programmes and the corporation’s Digital Curriculum, are among the hardest hit by Mark Thompson, the director general’s plans to cut jobs at the corporation and relocate them to Manchester.

As well as cutting about 47 per cent of its overall management and administrative staff the BBC will make an additional 400 redundancies in its factual and learning departments.
