Be a safe surfer

Unable to guarantee a safe online presence for its users, Microsoft gagged and closed down its UK MSN chatrooms last year. Now MSN has created a web-safety site to steer teenagers towards safe surfing.

Complete with Mission Impossible-type intro, WebSafeCrackerz.com is what it says it is - you have to answer a series of question to open the online safe and get the goodies (eg music and mobile ringtones downloads). To get the relevant information you have to visit the five security zones. While the information is presented in a format thought to appeal to 12 to 16-year-olds, it's useful for anyone who uses the internet. However, it seems a sad state of affairs that if you want to avoid spam it's best not to use your real name in your email address.
