Cuts have sadly taken their toll on the capital’s Castlehill Urban Studies Centre, which is to close. But what mysteries lay hidden within the ambit of urban studies? The city appears to have taken realism to the extreme, judging by the report to Edinburgh’s education committee last week. Against income it lists Pounds 6,550 on “tattoo rental” and Pounds 2,000 on “tattoo recoveries”.

Budgets are obviously pretty grim if they’re encouraging kids to rent tattoos and charging them another w hack to remove them. Earrings and studs, maybe? But tattoos? Perhaps the centre’s location has something to do with it? It’s next to the castle.
