An academy thought to be the first school in the country to use “museum learning” with more than 500 artefacts on site has been opened by the Olympic gold medal-winning rower Sir Matthew Pinsent.

Langley Academy in Slough, Berkshire, claims to have one of the most environmentally friendly buildings of any school in England.

The #163;23 million school runs its own museum and brings a range of historic objects to lessons to provoke questions and debate. It also claims to have unparalleled access to cultural institutions. DM.
