Beyond our Ken

We are grateful to Ken Goodwin, heidie of Shawlands Academy in Glasgow, for sharing with us his decision to ban some of the more over-done educational usages of our time, and the reasons for ditching them.

"Opportunity" because it really means "ore work".

"Challenge" amounts to "no extra resources".

"Ownership" which equates to "you've got to do it anyway".

"Inclusion" indicates "disruption".

And "let me share a thought with you" suggests "I am a pompous ass".
