Blame fast-food firms for obesity

REGARDING "Weigh-ins proposed to combat increase in obesity" (TES, August 8), I agree many children seem to be overweight. But I would ask Professor Peto, proposer of the idea, how we can weigh children without specialist equipment. Also some parents are bound to object. I suggest he ask fast-food outlets not to sell poor-quality food to overweight children. Let the firms who provide the wrong foods face the parents.
