Boarding fees up

Boarding school fees have risen by almost double the rate of inflation over the past year.

The cost of educating a child at a UK boarding school rose by 5.2 per cent, compared to May's inflation rate of 2.69 per cent, excluding housing costs, according to a new survey for expatriate parents.

Fees at 43 schools were monitored by consultants advising companies on changes in British life.
