Bog standard

Sometimes you just couldn’t make them up. We learnt recently of a World Toilet summit, held in Belfast at the end of September in the appropriately named setting of the Waterfront Hall.

And this was organised by, yes you probably haven’t guessed it, the Bog Standard campaign, which aims to raise the standard of school toilets. It was launched in England last year and now the bog people have set up their stall in Ireland.

Is Scotland next in line, we wonder? If so, we are in for a wonderful new acronym since the six counties actually have a Northern Ireland Toilet Association (NITA). Suggestions please.
