Bogus colleges shut

Fifteen private colleges have been shut down and 140 have been suspended under new immigration rules aimed at tackling bogus colleges. The sanctions came after the UK Border Agency carried out 600 inspections. The Association of Colleges is campaigning for the term “college” to be reserved for approved institutions in order to prevent front operations for visa scams damaging the reputation of the rest.
