Book It! is the name of the children’s events at this year’s Cheltenham Festival of Literature, running from October 11 to 20.

The Youth Drama Festival presents a selection of revivals by local schools, colleges and youth theatres to mark 50 years of broadcasting by the BBC Third Programme and Radio 3. Among the productions: extracts from Under Milk Wood by Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Harold Pinter’s Family Voices by Churchdown School, two early plays by Caryl Churchill, The Ants and Not Not Not Not Not Enough Oxygen presented by the Everyman Youth Theatre. u On October 8, Stagefair ‘96 will feature exhibitors from all the leading West End shows, the Theatre Museum and Shakespeare’s Globe. Visitors can take part in workshops, enjoy a preview of theatrical highlights introduced by Sheridan Morley and attend a seminar for teachers, Developing Young Audiences, to be addressed by speakers from the Arts Council of England, the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House, the Globe and Cameron Mackintosh Ltd.
