Boost for care pupils

Young people in care should receive bursaries to attend sixth forms or other post-16 education, a committee of MPs has recommended. The Government is already committed to providing pound;2,000 bursaries for looked-after teenagers who make it to university. Kevin Brennan, the children’s minister, is considering the proposal, he told a Commons select committee.
