A south Wales school is bucking the national trend of declining interest in science subjects by sending more than a third of its sixth form to study sciences at university. Independent school Christ College, in Powys, has also created 13 new science bursaries, using a recent legacy of more than pound;2 million. It was given by the widow of a former pupil, who later established a pharmacy business.
