The University of Oxford Botanic Garden, which grows over 8000 different species of plants, is celebrating its 375th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the Garden has developed a hands-on “Biodiversity” programme for key stage 3-4 pupils and sixth formers together with a complementary series of events including free sixth form lectures by leading authorities such as Richard Mabey, the author and journalist, and Professor Gren Lucas from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
These will be given at the botanic gardens in Bristol (May 15), Belfast (May 29), Leicester (October 16) and Oxford (December 10). Ticket reservations and information from Louise Allen, UOBG. Telfax: 01865 276920.
