Box of delights

Staff at East Norfolk sixth-form college in Great Yarmouth have had a busy time recently, and numbers prove the point, according to Anita Gentry, quality manager and head of English and the arts. First, for quality assurance, they collected and collated 7,500 "bits of paper" for the whole-college student survey; then the English team filled in more than 1,000 "estimated examination grades"; next 350 exams in art began, and so it goes on.

The nice numbers were three performances of a modern drama double bill, three days of conversation conducted in modern foreign languages, and 30 staff and students who took part in the Run For Life charity run in Norwich. Anita is the winner of this week's staffroom hamper, so they can all start counting biscuits now.
