BOYS have a harder time finding adoptive parents than girls and often spend their childhoods in care, says the British Agencies for Adoption and Fostering. A survey of 1,437 children, who have failed to be adopted, found that couples prefered infants orgirls under the age of five. Felicity Collier, co-author of the report and BAAF’s chief executive, said society “demonised boys and young men”. Boys who were quickly adopted into stable families could benefit enormously long term, she added.
