Boys will be boys

IN the 1950s I worked in a London junior school when the pupils sat and we marked the 11-plus. To qualify for a grammar school place the girls had to score a total of 360 marks. The boys? They went to the grammar if they scored 320. Girls have always out-performed boys. Now it is out in the open.
