Pupils from Bradford packed the public gallery of the city hall’s old courtroom to witness a re-enactment of a 1910 court case.

The children, from 13 schools in the city, watched proceedings in a case against “Annie”, accused of being “in drink” and breaking a pub window. They also watched a reconstruction of a typical present-day court case of a woman charged with shoplifting.

The event, organised by Education Bradford and the Bradford Magistrates in the Community initiative, which helps youngsters understand the court system. DM.
