Hidden in this block are the words zero to twelve inclusive, and twenty, fifty, seventy and hundred.

Can you find them all?

SOLUTIONS Number search (ages 5 to 8)

How old are they?

1. Mrs Brown was asked how old she was.

She said:“When you divide my age by 2, 3, 4 or 6, there is always 1 left over, but when you divide it by 7, there is no remainder.”

How old is Mrs Brown?

2. Mrs Jones was asked how old she was.

She said: “When you divide my age by 6, there is 5 left over. When you divide it by 5, there is 4 left over, and when you divide it by 4, there is 3 left over.”

How old is Mrs Jones?

SOLUTIONS How old are they? (ages 9 to 13) Mrs Brown is 49. Find numbers that can be divided exactly by 2, 3, 4 and 6 (12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72). Add 1 and check for a multiple of 7. Mrs Jones is 59. Find the smallest number that can be divided exactly by 6, 5 and 4, then subtract 1.
