For the first time in 450 years it is possible to visit the great Abbey of St Edmund in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, thanks to a new virtual model “housed” within the town’s Moyse’s Hall Museum, a Norman town house. The real abbey ruins can be explored on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10.30am and noon with an actor-interpreter playing Brother Jocelin de Brakelond, who lived in the abbey during the 12th century. An education pack and video are available. Tel: Bury St Edmunds Tourist Information Centre, 01284 764667.
