ITALY: A schools catering firm has been blamed for one of the biggest food poisoning cases ever recorded in the country’s history.
More than 500 children from schools in the Turin area required hospital treatment after eating pre-cooked pasta, tuna and maize. More than a thousand pupils suffered nausea, vomiting and stomach pains thought to have been caused by the fish.
The owner of the catering firm, Bruno Garzena, a former Juventus footballer, said: “This is the worst own goal of my life.”
