AND LOOK - here comes Bristol City Council’s response to its Office for Standards in Education inspection.
It’s positive: education chair Adrian Becker calls the report “a valuable critique of our strengths and weakenesses,” and lists at length the many good things it says about Bristol.
And it’s pre-emptive: listing the weaknesses, the council notes that some “had been recognised by the LEA before the OFSTED inspection and improvements were already underway.”
Just in case we haven’t got the message, a box at the end reminds us to read the whole report and not just the OFSTED press release which, it says cheekily, doesn’t give the full picture.
Well done, Bristol - magnificently and rapidly rebutted. Walsall and Southwark: watch and learn.
