Four schools in Bristol have formed the city’s first co-operative trust in a bid to give the community more say over the way they are managed.

Ashton Park Secondary School will join forces with three primaries - Ashton Vale, Luckwell School, and Compass Point: South Street School and Children’s Centre.

They have become the South West Bristol Co-op Learning Trust, which came into effect yesterday, with partners including the University of the West of England and Bristol City Football Club.

People involved with the school and from the local community will be able to join the trust and have a say in how the school is run. DM.
