New quality-assured standards are to be introduced for British schools teaching in English overseas. The move was welcomed by the Council of British International Schools (Cobis), which represents the 5,000-plus schools. The end of the present voluntary inspection arrangements would reassure parents and improve the “brand” of British education abroad, the council said.
