Is jewellery purely decorative or can it also tell a story? Judge for yourself at the Travelling Gallery’s latest exhibition, Jack Cunningham: Brooching the Subject.

On display are 20 narrative brooches created by the Scottish jeweller, inspired by a trip to Japan, plus elements of the creative process, such as sketches. There are also artist-led workshops and other events.

The mobile galley tours from East Lothian today to Glasgow (Sept 9-13), Shetland (Sept 16-26), Midlothian (Sept 30-Oct 10), Aberdeen (Oct 13-17), Arran and Ayrshire (Oct 21-31), Dumfries and Galloway (Nov 4-14), Aberdeen (Nov 17-21), Glasgow (Nov 24-28), West Dunbartonshire (Dec 1-5), North Lanarkshire (Dec 8-12) and finally Edinburgh (Dec 15-19).
