The Focus on Food campaign by the RSA kicks off on Monday with a national food week.
A pantechnicon bus will tour schools nationwide with an on-board kitchen for 15 young chefs and a classroom allowing up to 40 pupils to watch demonstrations.
Top chefs will assist pupils at 500 primary and secondary schools in a range of activities from planning a creative teatime meal and designing a healthy lunchbox, to cooking in the style of well-known media chefs.
The campaign’s organisers are also trying to raise public awareness of the importance of nutrition and promote cookery for boys.
