In reply to Beverly Saunders’s letter headed “Our long holidays are not for sale” (TES, December 12), I disagree with her term “holidays”. Most of the time I am not at school, standing or sitting in front of my class, I am desperately working - to plan, record and mark work I must deliver or evaluate for the national curriculum.
“Holiday time” is simply time for me to carry on the ever-present workload of a modern primary teacher.
