Danish schoolchildren as young as eight will soon be trained in video editing, using professional equipment from Avid Technology. Using MCXpress for Windows NT, they will complete a variety of projects, including school videos, short films, video diaries and video footage for their school’s web site.
The initiative, supported by the Danish ministry of education, is designed to encourage all children to be proficient in multimedia technology by the time they leave school. It is expected that more than 40 schools in Copenhagen will be equipped with Avid MCXpress by next August.

Alphapics is a literacy program aimed at pre-school, special needs and key stage 1 pupils. The package offers two complementary activities for children that combine visual skills and early reading knowledge. There is also the option to choose between letters spoken phonetically or by their names.
Alphapics (Pounds 25+vat), records the name of each child and keeps a record of their progress, either on screen or as hard copy.
