(Photograph) - Edinburgh pupils from St Mary’s RC Primary, Gracemount High and the city council’s youth programme Go4it have been working with Martin Ayres, from the art company Caged Beastie, to create gilded cages illustrating oppression and freedom. Their exhibition can be seen at St John’s Church on Princes Street during the Edinburgh Festival until August 27 and is linked to the Festival of Spirituality and Peace, a church-based event which started as part of the Fringe programme and became a festival in its own right this year.
