Pupils are told what to do with drug needles after a survey by the Keep Britain Tidy campaign revealed a 7 per cent rise in syringes found on school grounds.

Almost 150,000 syringes were collected by councils during the last year, 38 per cent of respondents recovering needles from school grounds, compared to 31 per cent in 1998.
