We’ve all seen those posters featuring dogs reading the newspaper, or a toy Dalmatian posing next to a real one. Advertising campaigns from the National Canine Defence League aim to foster responsible ownership and minimise the numbers of strays on the street. The NCDL has now packaged some of its advertisements with lesson plans. The key stage 3 English pack gets pupils to look at the effectiveness of slogans and the nature of good promotional copy. The KS4 business studies pack investigates the differences between goods and services and the public image of charities, all within a congenial canine context. To obtain a free copy of the resources callthe NCDL Education helpline quoting the reference number: 006700.
