The National Union of Teachers wants a London education forum to co-ordinate school provision across the capital. It believes the Government’s London Challenge initiative is not tackling all the capital’s education needs and wants to see a network of teachers’ centres and an education research centre.
The forum would include local authority, government, teacher, support staff, parent and governor representatives and be democratically accountable.
