Burying the time capsule at Broadfield community primary school in Rochdale wasn’t as easy as headteacher Kathryn Knight and the children thought.

Every time the capsule was thrown into the hole it stood up! The capsule is a gift to future generations to open in 2055

James Ingram is one of 70 Year 10 pupils from Hylton Red House and Pennywell secondary schools in Sunderland taking part in a two-year work placement programme. James, who wants to become an engineer, has joined the corporate health and safety team at Sunderland city council. On his first day, he was given a tour of the city’s southern radial route

At Sherington CE first school near Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, co-operation is the key word. Advanced skills teacher Colin Storey says everyone has the opportunity to muck in - all children have access to the school’s two vegetable plots - and weekly cooking sessions make use of home-grown organic produce
