Careers Wales Online (CWO)lists education, training and job opportunities for school and college leavers in Wales, and allows them to set up a personal “eportfolio” in which to record their skills, exams and work experience. It is hoped that young people and adults will use the eportfolio throughout their working lives, charting their progress over years.
Other features include interactive games designed to help candidates prepare for job interviews and labour market information.
Rheinallt Jones, CWO project manager, said: “This really is a world first.
It will reach people of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of where they live in Wales. It will give everyone the chance to create a path for lifelong learning.”
The all-age bilingual service was piloted with 40 schools and colleges from across Wales, and is the brainchild of Careers Wales, the umbrella organisation for the seven companies currently delivering careers advice.
Jane Davidson, minister for education and lifelong learning, said: “This will give all Welsh learners information at the touch of a button.”
