Cash for ideas

Students are being offered prizes of up to pound;7,000 for new ways of teaching children maths, science, IT or design. And their ideas could be developed commercially. The competition will initially be limited to students at the universities of Bath, Bristol, Edinburgh, University College London and Manchester UMIST. It is being organised by Teach First, which places high-flying graduates in schools. It is funded by a grant worth more than pound;100,000 from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (Nesta).
