YOUR item on the study of six education action zones by the Economic and Social Research Council may give the impression of a failed initiative.
The analysis no doubt contributes to research on the performance of the zones, but somehow fails to capture the success stories that we have seen in Lambeth and across the country.
I have had the privilege of chairing the Lambeth zone forum for five years.
Much of the innovative practice now being championed has its roots in what we have been doing - school networks, the engagement of parents, and creative numeracy and literacy. It doesn’t look like a disappointment and, at least for Lambeth, I hope we can all celebrate what has been an important success.
