Bringing CSI to the classroom is obviously an inspired move to motivate students. In this case, however, it’s “Cemetery Scene Investigators: What does your local cemetery tell you about your community?” Despite the title, it’s not as gory as its television namesake.

And it won Tolenas School, in Fairfield, California, a Multimedia Mania award from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

You can get a flavour from the brief: “Your CSI Team will become scientific and historic investigators by investigating not only the headstones, the biographies of those buried, the flora, fauna, (bugs included), geology, topography, architecture and cemetery layout. Your tools will be numerous.”
