A new chairman has been elected by the National Confederation of Parent-Teacher Associations after an annual meeting attended by just 20 voting members. Judith Wood takes over while the organisation is under investigation by the Charity Commission and riven by bitter infighting. At the heart of the dispute is the removal of two executive members after a five-hour meeting: they had claimed the NCPTA was not fulfilling its objectives or giving value for money.
