More free childcare is needed, a new not-for-profit company for children’s services has claimed.

Capacity, a firm offering consultancy and support services, wants the current entitlement of 12.5 hours per week of funded childcare for three to five-year-olds increased to 20 hours. Children under three should be entitled to up to 12.5 hours per week.

The Social Market Foundation think tank has said the Government is failing to make childcare affordable for low-income families.
