The headline “Children’s champion claims she got the nod on #163;135k post’s survival” is misleading (July 23). It was written following a speech in which I referenced a Press Association article about the review of my office. It said: “Asked if the review could lead to the abolition of the Commissioner’s post... David Cameron’s official spokesman said: ‘That is not the purpose of this review. The purpose of this review is to look at it five years on and see if we can do things better.’”

Of course, this is different to me getting the nod on my post!

At the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, we welcome feedback on our first five years. Those who would like to comment can do so on the Department for Education’s website.

Maggie Atkinson, Children’s Commissioner for England.
