Children’s health

(Photograph) - Children’s health is likely to be one of the main issues politicians will be keen to get their teeth into during the election campaign. There was some good news on that front last week when it was announced that 54 per cent of P1 children, such as Louise Anderson and Lewis Clark at St John’s Primary in Alloa, above, now have no signs of tooth decay - the best results since the dental inspection programme began in 1987 and only a few points short of the national target of having 60 per cent of children with no signs of dental disease by 2010.
